    0.9ha of 50 to 60 yo vines. Rich rocky notes, powerful and structured denser and more compact than Charmes but with great class to the tannins. This opens up brilliantly with a little aeration. Griotte, bramble, earth mineral and rock salt. Superb, a true vin de garde.

    The 2017 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has a precise, complex and beautifully focused bouquet that really expresses its terroir; there is perhaps some very discreet and assiduous stem addition here. The palate is crystalline on the entry and displays exquisite poise and refinement, plenty of tension and energy, and slightly piquant red fruit toward the persistent finish. Just wonderful. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
