Chambolle Musigny, La Combe d'Orveaux, 2021
Very aromatically high toned, with flowers and fine red fruits. Fine minerality below the gentle fruit, and a refined yet persistent length. Impossible not to love the combination of silk and fine minerals. Seriously pretty and should develop even more during élevage. An elevated vineyard bordering Flagey Echezeaux, influenced by the cooling effects of the Combe d'Orveaux.
critic reviews
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d’Orveau has a lovely, very pure bouquet with raspberry and blackcurrant scents, a touch of graphite lurking in the background. The palate is very supple, with well-integrated oak, fine focus and poise, though there is just a slight vegetative element on the finish that I hope will assimilate with bottle age. I'll be prudent with my score for the time being.
