    Initially surly and brooding, this is a serious Grand Cru that packs a firm punch; powerful, gripping fruit flavours of dark berries, black cherries, plums, minerals with hints of spice and coal dust, a wine for laying down.

    The 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a vibrant nose with dark berry fruit, touches of sea cave/oyster shell. This is nicely focused and intellectual. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, fine acidity, unapologetically mineral-driven with a saliva-inducing sapid finish. Very classy and sophisticated.
