Nuits St Georges, Les Pruliers, 1er Cru, 2019

Another knockout Nuits, as we’ve come to expect from Grivot, but even by their standards they must be delighted with this. Black cherry, fresh mint leaf, damson liqueur and wild strawberry are just some of the fruit flavours up for grabs in this incredibly linear, driving, shape-shifting Pinot. It is intense, concentrated and incredibly mineral on the palate and yet there is a seamlessness to it too; the fruit and spice flavours (not to mention beautifully integrated oak) bring carried along by tactile tannins that support but don’t overwhelm. Les Pruliers, one of the unsung heroes of Nuits St Georges situated on the south side of the appellation, yields classic, complete Nuits that combines power, freshness, richness and minerality.
