Energetic and red fruited with notes of chalk, graphite and gunflint below. Very fine tannins add to the overall sense of momentum and drive, yet there’s also some real style and sophistication too. Saline lift on the finish. Superb. A south facing terroir one of the warmest in Vosne producing voluptuous fruit-rich wines.

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru has a wonderful, expressive bouquet with shimmering red berry fruit, white flowers and hints of blood orange. Very harmonious and poised. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins. It’s not powerful but tensile with an almost crystalline finish fanning out effortlessly. Superb.
