critic reviews
There is just one (new) barrel of the 2024 Musigny Grand Cru, though two weeks ago it had been racked into a one-year-old barrel to moderate the wood influence. It does have a very intense nose that shades all the preceding cuvées with layers of red berry fruit, sous-bois and flecks of dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins. Good depth in the context of the vintage, the 15% whole bunch imparts subtle peppery notes with an almost viscous texture on the finish. I think it was a good idea to rack this Musigny and it should be worth hunting down one of the 300 bottles. Good luck.
