Bâtard-Montrachet, Grand Cru, 2010
Immense and forceful, bursting droplets of intense fruit explode on the palate; less floral and much more mineral than their Bienvenue, structured but not without finesse, exhibiting hazelnut, stone fruit, honey and citrus rind flavours with lingering notes of rock minerals. A Bâtard more-or-less equally from both the Chassagne and Puligny communes and aged in 40% new oak barrels.
critic reviews
(Boudot picked this fruit on the second day of the harvest to avoid surmaturite): Pale yellow. Aromatic nose combines peach and acacia flower. Sweet, dense and peachy, with powerful underlying structure and palate-staining fruit. Seems better balanced and higher in acidity than the 2011 version, which accentuates the impression of minerality. Superb Batard with a silky texture and a very long, brisk finish. Likely to be long-lived.
