Puligny Montrachet, Les Combettes, 1er Cru, 2011
Ripe honeyed fruit and blossom aromas. Large framed, unctuous and full-flavoured. Silky, good length of flavour, deep, complex and impressive, if more closed than the rest of the Premiers Crus. Needs time but this is so intense. In the hands of Gerard Boudot this is one of the great Premiers Crus of Puligny, up there with Leflaive’s Pucelles.
critic reviews
Pale, bright, green-tinged yellow. Sexy aromas of white nectarine and minerals complicated by oak notes of vanilla and toast. Dense, pure and precise, with a distinctly sappy, tactile quality to the savory flavors of white stone fruits and crushed rock. This really saturates the palate with flavor and builds on the aftertaste. Superb premier cru with the energy to support a leisurely evolution in bottle.
