Unashamedly opulent and full. Wonderfully expressive griotte, damson and bramble flavours, notes of small berry fruits steeped in liqueur and crème de framboise. Broad and creamy-textured, mouth filling and luxurious.

The 2018 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru has one of the more extravagant aromatics with black plummy fruit, damson pie, briary and a smear of marmalade. The oak regime seems simpatico with the fruit intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with rather chewy tannins. Plenty of weight here, grippy, yet it doesn't really kick on the finish and doesn't coerce you back for more. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting.
