Puligny Montrachet, Les Nosroyes, 2022
Fine grained and very Puligny, packed full of fine minerals and sleek stones, crushed herbs, citrus zest and lemon flesh. This is salty, sleek with an elongated, growing character. Total elegance here – all you could ask for in a village Puligny. But then Nosroyes (pron: no-rwah) is a very fine Puligny village vineyard towards the top of the slope on the North side of the village, just underneath Les Perrieres. There is a predominance of limestone in this well-drained vineyard that typically yields finely etched but ripe fruited wines with a chalky finish. It spends 12 months in barriques followed by 6 months in tank.
critic reviews
The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Nosroyes has a similar reduction to the Les Levrons, focused and perhaps even more concentrated. The palate is well-balanced with impressive depth. There’s not quite the mineralité of a Premier Cru, but ample concentration with a lively, spicy finish. Delicious.
