Ghislaine Barthod
Chambolle Musigny, 2015
justerini & brooks tasting note
A little riper, lusher and broader than the Bourgogne, floral fine and charming. Exuberant red cherry, strawberry, cherry confit and griotte flavours wrapped in very fine but gently gripping tannins. The result of a blend of 13 parcels aged predominantly in used oak barriques.

Good dark red. Aromas of roasted black cherry and licorice show a distinct element of surmaturité following the 2016s at this address, but quickly gained in energy and lift. Wonderfully sweet, spicy and concentrated for the vintage, with no shortage of acidity. A dark berry fruit bomb in the mouth, showing the creaminess of the vintage, but becomes more airy as it opens in the glass. Very long for village wine, finishing with ripe tannins saline mineral grip.
