Chambolle Musigny, 2017

2019 - 2027justerini & brooks tasting note
Fuller broader and richer fruit than the Bourgogne. Generous, open Chambolle of breadth. Ripe griotte cherry flavours with some kirsch notes and a twist of salt. The result of a blend of 13 parcels aged predominantly in used oak barriques.

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a pretty, slightly tertiary bouquet featuring touches of brown spice sprinkled over the red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, slightly chalky in texture and spicier than recent vintages that I have tasted. It is a little rustic in style, but that is part of its charm.
