Prunier Bonheur
Monthélie, Rouge, 2022
justerini & brooks tasting note
Pretty red fruited and floral, with a tender structure and flowing tension to the mid palate – smaller crisper ripe berries dot the palate with just a touch of salinity giving freshness. From a selection of parcels on clay limestone soils, averaging 45-year-old vines, fermented with 10-15% whole bunch.

The 2022 Monthélie Rouge just feels a bit out of sorts on the nose, perhaps exaggerated by the harmony expressed by the preceding Auxey Les Crais Blanc. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and moderate depth. It’s a little rustic around the edges, and there is an element of under-ripeness toward the finish. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.
