Robert Chevillon
Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Cailles, 1er Cru, 2017
justerini & brooks tasting note
Whilst this is never a larger-than life, extroverted cuvée, its class is there for all to see. As noble and fine as it is there is some drive and focused power here. Intense yet composed. Really mineral and vibrant and with concentrated, small hedgerow berry, sloe and damson flavours haunting the long finish. An exemplary, stony vineyard situated mid slope next to Les St Georges, Chevillon’s is a fine parcel of 80 year-old vines, the oldest vines on the estate.
