Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Chaignots, 1er Cru, 2024
Utterly charming, as Chaignots so often is, with a texture that speaks to its proximity to Vosne – supple glossy tannins, silky flowing floral fruit, with touches of plum and sweet spice and an overall sense of refined ease. Very expressive. A Nuits premier-cru vineyard on the Vosne side of the appellation and thus usually one of the silkier and lighter wines of the Chevillon cellar.

The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Chaignots 1er Cru has a slightly earthy bouquet that maybe does not quite possess the brightness that I find on the Village at the moment. The palate is smooth and harmonious on the entry, with pliant tannins and a pleasing fluidity to this Chaignots but without the complexity of Chevillon's other cuvées. Fine early drinking fare.
