Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Perrières, 1er Cru, 2016
A cuvée that has been on something of a roll these last few years. This is striking and has a clear character, rich but rocky and mineral. Fine-tuned and agile, crisp ripe flavours of black cherry and cherry stone, tight packed and coilied, such refined power. Stunning. From the poor stony soils of Perrières, this is a Nuits that often produces wines in the classic mould, robust and mineral but without excess.
critic reviews
Bright medium red. Sexy scents of raspberry, crushed stone and flinty minerality; at once redder and rockier than the foregoing samples. Then supple and fine-grained but quite penetrating on the palate, with its raspberry and cherry flavors complicated by smoke and earth nuances. Finishes brisk and long, with substantial dusty tannins.
