Gevrey Chambertin, Les Seuvrees, 2020
justerini & brooks tasting note
A charming Gevrey that reflects the sandy soils from which it emanates. Open, ripe and silky dark bramble and red berry fruit. Floral fresh and juicy with a suave, softening texture. Relaxed, easy and assured. Fermented with a third whole bunches and aged in used oak barrels only.

With one-third whole bunch and no new oak, the 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrées has another crisp and precise bouquet with that wilted rose petal leitmotif coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy cranberry and strawberry. There is just the right amount of bitterness on the finish that gets the saliva flowing. Give this three or four years in bottle just to shave its edges.
