The 2016 Chambertin Grand Cru has a very well defined bouquet with pure red berry fruit, crushed stone, tea leaves and rose petal scents that blossom in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, a little tightness to contend with at first. Becomes razor-sharp towards the finish. Maybe I was expecting more substance, but the freshness and vitality carry this over the line. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.
