Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Rouge, 2023
justerini & brooks tasting note
Sweet, easy and velvety. Purrs rather than builds. This is supple and not hugely complex, rather a wine of easy drinking pleasure. From plots in the village of Villers-la-Faye up on the plateau, the vines here are planted on slightly deeper soils with more clay than Sebastian’s other Haut Côtes cuvees

The 2023 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge has a playful nose with wild strawberry and raspberry fruit, and more mineralité than the Bourgogne Rouge. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline entry, harmonious and quite structured on the finish. Maybe it just misses a little sustain on the aftertaste, but otherwise this is a fine Hautes-Côtes.
