Tollot Beaut
Beaune, Grèves, 1er Cru, 2024
justerini & brooks tasting note
We simply adored this and rated it as one of the wines of the cellar in 2020. More freshness than the Beaune Clos du Roi, which was picked the same day, and greater definition and grip. This feels like the vines dealt with the stress of the dry season remarkably well. Easy, seamless but poised flavours of dark berries and raspberries, gripped by noble, velvety tannins and finishing on a cleansing stone and chalk minerality. Exquisite, well-rounded Beaune! An emblematic Tollot Beaut wine, a parcel first bought by Nathalie and Paul Tollot’s great, great grandfather. The current vines were planted in 1968.
