Grande Reserve, Brut, NV

Available Vintages
justerini & brooks tasting note

Gorgeous fruit, apple and stone fruit notes, but also something floral and a touch of hay. Crisp complexity, fine spice, grapefruit pith, and toasted orange peel. Smoke and flint notes appearing on the finish. Really lovely, such a lot of character, depth but also freshness. A cuvee that sees 15-27 months sur lie and full malolactic fermentation. 65% Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay. Full Malolactic conversion. 41% Reserve wine. This release saw a dosage of 5g, though this can swing between 4.5g and 6 depending on the disgorgement.

critic reviews

92/100William Kelley,Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Based on the 2020 vintage, complemented by 39% reserve wines, and disgorged in September 2022 with five grams per liter dosage, the NV Brut Grande Reserve bursts with aromas of pear, apple, honeycomb, toasted nuts, freshly baked bread and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's charming and sensual, with a generous core of fruit and an expansive finish.

93/100Sarah Mayo,The Wine Independent

Based on the 2020 vintage, the Grand Réserve Brut NV is predominantly Pinot Meunier with a small amount of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the blend along with 39% of perpetual reserve wine that started in 1998. Fragrant and alluring aromas of pear tart, golden apple sauce, baking spice, pecans and sweet floral notes flow into a very focused, medium to full-bodied and textured palate centered on wonderfully ripe fruit and vivacious acid tension. It finishes with excellent length and freshness. Disgorged September 2022 and finished with a five gram per liter dosage. 40415 bottles and 2602 magnums were produced.
