    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Very chiselled aromas burst from the glass in this exceptional Grand Cuvee, whose heart comes from the brilliant 2012 vintage. Fine crushed stones, flint, crisp butter pastry and an elegant puff of light smoke and chalk unfurl to reveal fine white flowers, lemon pith and white currant. Very pretty and pixelated as it trips across the palate, yet with remarkable intensity of flavour and persistence. This is Grand Cuvee etched with precision and taut intensity yet also a real sense of mid-palate concentration. A wonderfully complete wine, brilliant now and for years to come. A blend of 52% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 13% Meunier. Reserve wines from the House’s extensive library made up 42% of the final blend.

A complex bouquet of iodine, mandarin, warm biscuits, dried flowers, citrus oil and anise introduces the NV Grande Cuvee 163eme Edition, a wine that's built around the 2007 vintage and is beginning to display some very attractive evolution. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a ripe but racy spine of acidity, chalky structure and a long, penetrating finish.
