Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, 2000

A lovely rich golden colour hints at the extended ageing this has seen prior to release. On the nose there are bright yet rich brioche and citrus notes, a touch of smoke and some herbal complexity. The palate is rich and broad, decadent, savoury and complex with lemon, spiced pear and biscuit notes leading to fine cep and truffle on the finish. A Champagne for the Gourmande that finishes long and intense yet focussed. Yet another highly sophisticated Churchill and a super effort for the vintage.
