    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Fresh and neat on the nose, with green apple, citrus zest and fresh pasty. Still quite tight and light and straight forward at release. Chalky, mineral and pure on the palate, this feels like it needs to flesh out a bit and put on weight in bottle. With time in the glass, delicate savoury suggestions appear; roasted nut, earthy hummus and fresh mushroom, suggesting patience may be required to bring out the best of this – certainly the cuvee’s track record would support the idea

    Sarah Mayo,

The Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2016 is a 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay where each variety and village parcel is vinified separately before the final blend is assembled. It is aged between five and six years on fine lees, hand riddled prior to disgorgement and finished with an eight gram per liter dosage. A rich golden color, the nose is very concentrated with rich, expressive notes of apple and rhubarb pie, lemon cream and honey. The medium-bodied palate has vibrant and supple acid supporting ripe forest fruit, toast, and acacia honey flavors. It finishes rich and long. The bottle tasted was disgorged in February, 2023.
