Sancerre, Cuvée l’Eclat, 2023

The nose shows more immediate fruit, with green apple, white peach, blood orange and a subtle hint of vanilla, presumably from the cigare barrels that JP uses for this cuvee. The palate takes on a more focused shape: long, linear and constantly tapering, carrying beautifully pure notes of ripe honeydew melon, lemon freshness, juicy peach and a touch of tarragon. Wonderfully pure and unwaveringly refined; it somehow seems to sing—a single note within which is contained a remarkably multifaceted world of flavour. It improves steadily with air, revealing a lovely sense of beautifully salted fruit that makes it irresistibly moreish.
