Domaine Agisson

Jean-Philippe Agisson is an exciting new find from Sancerre - a winemaker with friends in all the right places. His current day job is Chef de Cave at Domaine Didier Dagueneau, a position he moved to from Alphonse Mellot. His work alongside Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau is complimented by a great friendship with Clement Pinard, and it from these two impeccable sources that JP appears to have drawn his winemaking inspiration. With a holding of just .03 ha in the little hamlet of La Vallee, Clos to Saury-en-Vaux, JP crafts one excellent white Sancerre called Equilibre. Manual picking is done in a single day, fermentation is carried out in a mixture of wooden fudres and tank and bottling is done by hand. The resulting wine is textured, finely tuned and highly expressive Sancerre that is sure to win many friends – we are delighted to have exclusive UK distribution of this little gem of a Sancerre. Inspired by some of the greatest names in Sancerre and Pouilly Fume the future looks very bright for this exciting new domaine.
