(unfined and unfiltered) Medium ruby. Reticent aromas of black fruits, earth and mocha. Fatter and fuller than the 2000, but less precise and less fruit-driven. Complex notes of raw crushed berries, pepper, gunflint and torrefaction, along with some rather raw wood notes. Here the substantial, ripe tannins are not quite as fine as those of the 2000.
