94/100Nicolas Greinacher,Vinous
I remember last tasting the medium to full-bodied 2007 L'Hermitage while taking a break from the Bordeaux En Primeur tastings in spring 2010, when it revealed little beyond tightness and austerity. Fifteen years on, the 2007 has mellowed into a distinctively spicy and elegant L'Hermitage, showing fragrant notes of mint, forest floor and cured meat. Wrapped around resolved tannins, the 2007 finishes with glistening verve on a refined close. Drinking beautifully today, it should continue to offer high-end tertiary pleasure for at least five more years.
