Cairanne, Réserve des Seigneurs, 2021

A Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Counoise blend from the slopes of Cairanne. All de-stemmed in 2021. From the lower and middle of the slopes, the oldest vines of the Oratoire estate, the young vines are picked separately and form part of the Mont Redon Côtes du Rhône blend. Only aged in concrete. Bright and delicious plummy fruits with some stones and earth too, lots going on, a really good entry-level. The higher proportion of clay in these parcels brings another level of structure to the wine, leading in to pepper and licorice-infused finish. Les Douyes is included in the Seigneurs blend this year.
