René Rostaing
Côte Rôtie, La Vialliere, 2024
justerini & brooks tasting note
A model of violet, brine and powdery acidity that Pierre describes as being “super classic” in 2024. A small parcel of 90-year-old vines just under Les Grandes Places that is back in the range as a single vineyard wine since 2016. It is only bottled in vintages where its stylish and elegant character is very clear.

Intense peppercorn, crushed violets and stemmy inflections introduce the complex 2024 Côte-Rôtie La Viallière. Medium-bodied and dense, the 2024 is built around a fine line of acidity, following through with spicy tones on the elegant epilogue. Fingers crossed it can pick up a little more substance and length during the remainder of its élevage.
