Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Riesling Auslese, Goldkapsel, 2025
Regrettably the Wehlener Sonnenuhr GK was not ready to taste on our visit. However, followers of the Mosel will know that this is a wine with a reputation for near-unparalleled longevity and consistency and we would expect the 2025 to rank amongst the best of the vintage.

The 2025 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese Goldkapsel holds back and slowly reveals some wet slate and hints of Seville orange peel. Beautiful sweetness on the palate is wonderfully perfumed and aromatic, depicting the peel and flesh of green and orange tangerine, of Seville orange and ripe Amalfi lemon. Roundness, suppleness and a lovely viscosity travel so lightly, barely touch the ground. The finish is all zestiness again, and so endless. Even the slightest vestige of the wine on the lips is still full of flavor. (Sweet)
