Lieser Niederberg Helden, Riesling, Grosses Gewächs, 2024
Richer, more textural, with complex earth notes and red fruits, more breadth than any of Thomas' other Grosses Gewächs. Fantastic richness and concentration of flavour, this is palate staining, dense and powerful but fresh too, hailing from the oldest vines in the estate. A wonderful rich and balanced GG than has years ahead of it.

The 2024 Niederberg Helden GG Lieser Riesling is coolish and smoky, elegant and surprisingly light but not green. Juicy, quite sweet but delicate, spicy and persistently salty, this already-attractive Riesling is less reductive than in the past at this early stage. It's a classic, cool and fine Mosel Riesling from a warm location, and it's developing a long finish. Tasted as a sample during the Vorpremiere VDP.Grosses Gewachs in Wiesbaden, August 2025.
