Finely etched, detailed and bright, bursting with cool citric and sweetly perfumed, garden-like herbs and flowers. Petrichor and a fine, blue slate note bring something more elemental to the mix, with a grip and focused, fresh acidity that speaks to the crisp, cool vintage.

The 2025 Riesling Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Kabinett is shy on the nose but alive on the palate. Golden peach is framed with ripest Amalfi lemon. This is a mouthful, not necessarily what you expect from the Ruwer, but fuller and rounder. The 2025 fruit explodes, takes center stage, takes numerous bows and bathes in applause. This is a showman Kabinett, jazz hands and all. This is atypical but full of bravado and joy. (Sweet)
