Saarburger Rausch, Riesling, Auslese, 2017
justerini & brooks tasting note
Seemingly not much sweeter than the Spatlese, but possessing far more dry extract and a bright line in limey acidity at its core that provides poise and extra energy. A relatively lightweight but hugely drinkable Auslese of with fine dried pineapple notes, blossom and then honeyed citrus.

Pineapple and lemon on the nose anticipate the tang, piquancy and animating juiciness that follow on a surprisingly firm palate. The rapier, energetic finish is blazingly bright, leaving the tongue tingling and a veritable salt crust on the lips. This is definitely not for the faint of heart or the impatient!
