Saarburger Rausch, Riesling, TBA, 2005
Incredible a Trockenbeerenauslese of this density that boasts a youthful pale green-tinged colour. A multi layered wine, dense, deep and mineral, again not too heavy, mouth - watering racy lemon rind flavours, notes of greengage, plum jam, sweet syrupy gooseberry notes, yet so staggeringly mouth-watering too. A massive 14.2g/l of acidity, 200 degrees Oeschle and 280g residual sugar.
critic reviews
(for 375 ml.; auction wine) Rich gold. Deeply botrytized nose offers an exotically spiced blend of mango, papaya and lichee, with hints of mocha and chocolate. Compellingly sweet, rich and concentrated, with smoky accents and the elegantly bitter expression of botrytis providing verve and lift.Riveting deep spice character makes for a fascinating, otherworldly finish. Wonderfully deep and rich yet ethereal, this wine approaches perfection in liquid form.
