Lovely, sweet blue and white fruits, something akin to blackberry and violet, with a ripe engaging feel, and a small jewel-like quartz sparkle carrying it through to a long, tasty finish.

The 2023 Riesling Monzinger Halenberg Auslese has a lovely scent of Mirabelle compote edged with iced lemon. This was made with about half of the botrytized fruit. The nose plunges into a lovely peach, supple and smooth. It's a little like fine peach ice cream, and the sweetness heightens those flavors. Gorgeously balanced and not too sweet at 105 g/L, the 2023 is exquisitely and quietly aromatic, always tempered with citrus. Frank Schönleber notes that this required immense selection effort.
