Monzinger, Riesling, Kabinett, 2022
The Ortswein (village) Kabinett is neat and animated, more generous than the 2020 and 2021, with a full fruit basket cut with a fresh acid line. A delicious, crowd-pleasing wine with a little kick of red slate spice on the end.
critic reviews
The 2022 Riesling Monzinger Kabinett was harvested in the Monzingen sites of Niederberg and Halenberg. These parcels have great water availability, so they ripen without delay, are uninterrupted in their evolution, and are thus suited to an early Kabinett harvest. The palate is a beautiful suffusion of smoke, lemon and crushed citrus leaf, with a little fig oil. The palate is smooth, light and not too sweet, channeling its citrus virtues while pronouncing fruit with notions of stone and grapefruit and a herbal savor of crushed yarrow. The 2022 is delicate and tender. (Medium)
