Monzinger, Riesling, Kabinett, 2025
A hit of cool Rangpur lime, salts and lemon opens into peach and crisp red apple. There is a lovely river-water clarity to the palate, all wet stones and fine mineral grip, with just a light touch of sweetness. Finishes crisp and tense, with the acidity pulling everything neatly into line. 9%.
critic reviews
The 2025 Riesling Monzinger Kabinett is chiefly picked as a pre-harvest selection in the Niederberg and Halenberg sites, where yields are higher. Lovely savor unites red apple and orange ripeness and mixes it with reductive flintiness. The palate has lovely sweetness, tempered by apple-like juiciness and pervaded by invigorating, lively, lasting freshness that makes the mouth water with salty stone. The 50 g/l of sugar tends to disappear in the face of 10.6 g/l of acidity. (Medium)
