From the Kalkofen, In den Lochern and Auf dem Felsen inside the Silberberg vineyard between Frauenberg and Schwarzer Herrgott, the 2018 Riesling C.O. Liquid Earth Family Reserve displays an intense, golden-yellow color and opens with intense, juicy, finely mineral and very elegant fruit and chalky nuances. Pressed gently for 12 hours and racked straight into a stuck and halbstuck, this is a full-bodied, rich and finessed, persistently saline and tightly structured C.O. that has some palatable similarities to Trimbach's Clos Ste Hune from the Rosacker Alsace Grand Cru. The finish is tight, saline and grippy, beautifully juicy, intense and very long. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2023.
