Frauenberg, Riesling, Grosses Gewächs, 2025
A wonderfully vivid Frauenberg that showcases the cooling influence of this elevated site. Salty, vital and intensely refreshing, it combines lime, lemon and crisp apple fruits with a powerful chalky mineral line. Compared with the darker, more brooding Herrgott, Frauenberg always feels brighter and somehow paler. The rocky soils, elevation of 280 metres and exposure to cool air flowing through the Zellertal valley make this the latest-ripening vineyard in the range.
critic reviews
The 2025 Riesling Nieder-Flörsheimer Frauenberg Grosses Gewächs is windy and cool. A generation ago, Riesling would not have ripened reliably every year. Now it is a trump card in the portfolio. This shines with freshness on the lemony nose and unleashes a beautifully fresh flow of stony, salty coolness perfumed with Amalfi lemon. The finish delivers zestiness, with the most alluring, mouthwatering texture and such elan. (Bone-dry)
