Completely de-stemmed, kept on the skins for 14-17 days and aged in old pieces from Meo-Camuzet and Bize Leroy, the 2020 Kirchenstuck Hohen-Sulzen Spatburgunder GG is open, elegant, deep and fruity on the pure and refined nose with delicate cherry, chalky and spicy notes. On the palate, this is a tight, round, tensioned, fresh and grippy yet also fruity and juicy-intense Pinot Noir with a clear, fresh, cleansing and mouthwatering finish. This Pinot Noir from chalky soils is refined and persistently saline, finely tensioned and elegant. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August and again with Caroline Spanier-Gillot in October 2022.
