Mölsheim, Riesling, Aus dem Erste Lagen, 2024
Pixellated, precise and cooling with a fine lees and gently growing texture, one of the best examples of this cuvée we have tasted yet. Mölsheim is produced from vines between the Grosse Lagen Kreuzberg and Schwarzer Herrgott including young vines from the latter. As such, it is now bottled with the Premier Cru designate “Aus dem Erste Lagen” and marked on the label “1G”.
critic reviews
The 2024 Molsheim Riesling 1G is intense and iodine-scented on the lemon-fresh, limestone-driven and slightly flinty nose that reveals a charming creaminess with sur lie notes. Round, lush and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied yet refined and balanced Molsheim Riesling with fine, well-integrated acidity, fine tannin grip and a pure, energetic, quite long and limestone-driven finish with lemony freshness on the aftertaste. 12% stated alcohol. Diam 10 cork. Tasted in August 2025.
