Domenico Clerico
Barolo, Pajana, 2004
justerini & brooks tasting note
Extremely fine but powerful, incredibly focused, loaded with concentrated fruit flavours of bitter sweet red and black cherry, blackberry and currant. Vivid, tightpacked but juicy and expansive, this gets better and better the more it breathes and should make for a truly great bottle in years to come.

The 2004 Barolo Pajana is the most approachable of Clerico's 2004s today. Dark, rich and sumptuous, the 2004 hits the palate with all of the exuberance and power that is typical of this site. Although quite fleshy and supple on the palate, the 2004 remains primary and youthful. With some air, the 2004 is beautifully expressive today, but it can also be cellared for another decade or more.
