Barbaresco, Albesani, VV, 2013
justerini & brooks tasting note
Light bright and clear. So vivid for such an intense and sophisticated wine. Fine-tuned and fresh. The fruit is complete and layered yet has such drive. Gorgeous alpine strawberry, loganberry and raspberry fruit dance daintily and deftly across the palate. There is a little padding to this, too. A soft cloak of fine tannins wrap around the lively fruit. This has it all. A beauty. From the middle part of the Albesani vineyard, the steepest part of the hill, and exclusively from old vines planted in 1948 from the original Nebbiolo michet clone. Aged for 36 months in large casks. 1025 bottles were made.
