Barbera, Pozzo dell'Annunziata, 2022

Voerzio have long advocated for high quality Barbera. To prove a point, they make this stunning single vineyard Barbera in the same way as the Barolos to produce a savoury, complex wine. The 2022 displays a dark-fruited character with notes of iris, clove, nuts and earth. Pozzo was the first vineyard that Voerzio planted himself at high density, back in 1990. That approach has since been rolled out across the estate. Aged in barrique and bottled only in magnums.
