Barolo, Cerequio, 2022

Sun-kissed red berry fruit, with nutmeg and sweet spices and a deeper, stony character coming after the more luxurious Rocche. Really alluring and open on the surface with a classy wash of firmer tannins below. Cerequio is one of the historic single vineyards of La Morra, south-facing and planted at 300 metres above sea level on sandy clay soils. Voerzio has 2.6ha here. Sarmassa is the lower continuation of Cerequio.
