Barolo, Riserva, Capalot, Brunate, 2009
justerini & brooks tasting note
Extremely open and inviting, this offers a huge amount of pleasure now but certainly has the substance to suggest good ageing ability, bursting with aromatic red cherry and strawberry fruit, wonderfully sweet flavours counter balanced by a gently refreshing austerity, finishing on notes of clove and cinnamon spice. The same cask ageing as the regular cru Barolos with extra time in bottle, this Riserva Barolo is a blend of wine from the Capalot and Brunate vineyards that average 50 years old. Bottled up exclusively in magnum, up to a 1000 individual magnums are produced annually.
