Fuller and more concentrated after the Block 2, Block 6 has an attractive floral lift with a crackling savoury spice note. It is beautifully weighted and long and more tapered on the finish – if Block 2 is nerve and thrill, then Block 6 is calm reassurance. From a north facing parcel, the 2024 was aged for 17 months in 5–6-year-old barrels.

The 2024 Chardonnay Block 6 is very complete. Firm and floral, this has more girth and expanse than Felton's Block 2, but it doesn't want for natural acidity. The 2024 is ripe but not lavish, with excellent clarity of fruit, precision and tension. Subtle nutty oak and lees-derived pastry notes linger.
