The 2021 Branco is a 60/40 blend of Cercial and Bical (the Bical only was aged for eight months in used oak, mostly French plus 20% American). It comes in at 13.2% alcohol. Sturdy but also unctuous and sensual, this absorbs its wood and expresses its fruit well. Most of the texture comes from the wood, but it is pleasing. It's not as energetic as I might have hoped, but the fruit profile is better than the structure. Of course, that's in a serious, Bairrada fashion, not a fruity concoction. It still does nicely in structure too.
