Capela da Quinta do Vesuvio, Vintage Port, 2024

Capela, like Stone Terraces or Nacional is a selection from within the Quinta do Vesuvio property, in this case drawn from 100-year-old vines. Production is very small, with just 500 cases produced. It is Vesuvio dialled up to eleven. The concentration and power are something to behold - cassis, plum, damson and ripe cherry led, it is rich and enveloping, freshened by mint and eucalyptus. Liquorice, wild herbs, lavender and dark chocolates last endlessly on the impressive finish. A very fine Capela indeed.
